Attaching large files

There are two Syncplicity Outlook Add-in options you can use to send shared links for files that are too large to attach with Outlook due to mail server limits:

  • TheAttach Filesoption in the Syncplicity ribbon on the compose window. Files are automatically uploaded to Syncplicity and a shared link to the file is sent in the email.

  • The native attachment option. If the attached file size exceeds the limit, you receive an error message. ClickOKin the popup to send that file using the Syncplicity Outlook Add-in. You can change the size by selecting Send attachments over [] MB in size using Syncplicity to automatically send files greater than a certain size. By default, the file size value in this option is set to the Exchange limit so that files above the exchange limit are automatically sent using Syncplicity for Outlook; you can change this value. However, you cannot set a file size value above the Exchange Limit, since all files above the mail server limit cannot be sent by Outlook and must be sent via Syncplicity only. You will not be able to change this value if your administrator has set it using policy.

NOTE: TheSyncplicity for Outlook → Send Optionsare only applicable if you send files using the native attachment option. When you use theAttach Filesoption from the Syncplicity ribbon, files are automatically sent using the Syncplicity Outlook Add-in.
